I realised another of my child-rearing pet peeves: sand at the bottom of the slide. Like when kids take a bunch of sand and put it on the little flat part at the end of the slide. And then leave it there. I’m always finding myself pushing sand away from slides with my hands. Who needs more sand in our babies’ diapers?

Someone just turned me onto the Dears and from their website I came across you blog and I’ve been reading it pretty faithfully for the past month and I enjoy it. I have a little 2-year-old and I can relate to your parent-related entries. I was just filling up the puddle at the bottom of a slide with the surrounding wood chips in the hopes of soaking some of the water up.
